The implementation of the EU Erasmus+ DEFEP project “Distance Education of the Future” in the period May – June 2025 is full of working meetings and events. One of these took place recently at the Saarland University, when during the staff-week activities, project coordinator Olena FILIMONOVA had the additional opportunity to meet with the DEFEP USAAR team. Together with Professor Astrid FELLNER, Eva NOSSEM, and their colleagues, they discussed the peculiarities of the current stage of the project, the piloting of distance learning master’s programs at universities in Ukraine and Moldova, and the role of European partners in improving these educational programs.
Particular attention was paid to the course “Intercultural Communication”, which was offered as an elective course to students of all piloted consortium programs with the involvement of EU partners, including Professor Astrid FELLNER. In her opinion, this course integrates well with other projects to which the University of Saarland is joining the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University and partners from Ukraine. Therefore, it can be further developed and supplemented for distance learning. Accordingly, such synergy will ensure the sustainability and further dissemination of the DEFEP project results.
