The DEFEP team of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, which is the coordinator of the Erasmus+ project “Distance Education of Future: Best EU Practices in Response to the Request of Modern Higher Education Seekers and the Labour Market”, held a working meeting. The participants discussed the project’s achievements over the year and a half of its implementation, monitored the results, and decided on further actions and priorities for the coming months. Currently, specialised distance education laboratories are being set up and training sessions are being prepared for university management, teachers, advisers and tutors, who will start working with students in the distance education in this September. The preparatory stages require a lot of effort, as they include reviewing educational programmes and developing new curricula at the request of stakeholders, improving institutional regulations and procedures, purchasing special equipment and software, professional development of academic staff, and special skills building in synchronous and asynchronous distance learning. All this is to ensure that distance education is of high quality, meaningful and useful for students who want to combine study and work in such difficult times for our country.
