On June 25, 2024, the Kiev National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman (KNEU) launched the Distance Learning Laboratory. The approach was implemented within the framework of the DEFEP project “Distance Education for Future: best EU practices in response to the requests of modern higher education seekers and labor market”, the goal of which is to improve distance education as a separate form of education.

The opening was held at the Faculty of Finance with the participation of KNEU Rector Dmytro Lukyanenko, DEFEP project coordinator and vice-rector for scientific work Larisa Antonyuk, project managers: vice-rector for scientific work and digital transformation Maryna Silchenko, professor of the Department of Corporate Finance and Controlling Tetyana Mayorova, director of the Institute of Remote of Education Yulia Krasiuk, Dean of the Faculty of Finance Bohdan Stetsenko, Head of the Department of Corporate Finance and Controlling Oleh Tereshchenko, Guarantor of the “Financial Management and Controlling” Program Nataliya Babyak and other participants of the DEFEP project.

The event also received the support of partners from Lviv, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv universities who joined online. Olena Filimonova, Ukrainian coordinator of the DEFEP project, congratulated the opening on behalf of the online guests.

The laboratory is equipped with modern equipment: a server, laptops, tablets, an interactive whiteboard and a panel, which were purchased with the funds of the DEFEP project. Further arrangement took place with the support of the university administration and the Faculty of Finance. During the event, KNEU Rector Dmytro Lukyanenko emphasized the importance of such projects for the transformation of higher education institutions in accordance with the needs of students.

Vice-rector Maryna Silchenko shared the achievements of the university in the field of distance education, and also held a master class together with the head of the IT support department Vitaly Bezkorovayn, demonstrating the advantages of the new equipment.

Project coordinator Larisa Antoniuk and responsible executor Tetiana Mayorova summarized the results of the project implementation and determined further steps for its development.
