The Academic Council of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University reviewed and recommended for publication the monograph «Education Innovations as a Response to Modern Challenges: Model of Distance Education», as one of the results of the EU project ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2 DEFEP «Distance Education for Future: best EU practices in response to the requests of modern higher education seekers and labor market». Its purpose is to deepen and generalize the methodological foundations of distance education in the Eastern Partnership countries, taking into account previous achievements and best practices of EU universities. It covers the essence and role of distance education in the global and European educational paradigm, the development of its ecosystem in Ukraine and Moldova, pedagogical and psychological aspects of implementation, technological tools of the distance education model and vectors of further development in the context of the legal framework and the current reform of higher education in Ukraine and Moldova.

The monograph was created by the team of more than 30 authors from the co-executing universities in Ukraine and Moldova, with the advice and review of EU partners, under the general editorship of Dr., Professor Oleksandr Pronkevych and PhD, Associate Professor Alina Mozolevska. The monograph was presented to the PMBSNU Academic Council by DEFEP project coordinator Olena Filimonova. The publication is planned in English, Ukrainian, and Romanian for better dissemination of distance education development.
