The first year of the DEFEP project “Distance Education for Future: best EU practices in response to the requests of modern higher education seekers and labor market” has been summarized at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University. This is a new, challenging, but valuable experience for the university, which for the first time became the coordinator of the EU Erasmus+ project in the area of Higher Education Capacity Building, Partnership for the Transformation of Higher Education.
In order to familiarize the academic community with the main results, DEFEP project coordinator Olena FILIMONOVA made a report at a meeting of the Academic Council of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University on December 21, 2023. During this time, the DEFEP team has already completed the stage of work related to the actualization and study of the conditions for distance education in the EU and Eastern Partnership countries, including Ukraine and Moldova. The annual report was unanimously approved by the Academic Council.
Next, we are working on developing a methodology and forming a model of distance education as a separate form of higher education, which is in demand and of high quality. And next year we will start an interesting stage of piloting distance education programs of the second (master’s) level of higher education.
